The documents. Nothing but the documents.
Some cases were never closed in the public's mind. CrowdSleuth is building a library where the records speak for themselves — no theories, no talking heads, just the files.
Know a case that should be documented? Tell us the name, the place, and what you know — we research the public record from there.
Soon you’ll be able to ask CrowdSleuth to file a public-records request for you — FOIA for federal agencies, and state public-information laws (like the Texas Public Information Act) for police, court, and local records. You cover the agency’s fees; we prepare and file the request and track its status — and every document that comes back is added to this library for everyone to read.
Tell us about a case you'd like documented. Every request is checked against public records and reporting before a file is opened — a request is a lead, not a publication.
Thank you. Your request is with the research desk. If the public record supports a file, it will join the library.
